June (not so) Gloom

"God desires peace for every nation: a peace that is not merely the absence of conflict, but one that is an expression of justice and dignity." - Pope Leo

Greetings from hot and humid Detroit!

This past weekend, the National People's Hearing Tour rolled through the city. A lot of our neighbors - all over the city, and all over Michigan - stepped up to the mic to share stories of environmental racism.

Energy companies price-gouging. Incinerators spewing toxins. Water contaminated with lead and PFAS. Overwhelmed wastewater systems. Oil spills. All of this playing out in Black and Brown communities.

The amazing thing is that these people also testified about organizing to fight back. It's so inspirational. Tommy will write more in his Substack newsletter soon.

We are getting ready to travel to Washington DC this weekend with Interfaith Action for Palestine. We'll be there to disrupt the supremacist narratives at the Christians United for Israel conference and America's 250th birthday party. Pray for us.

Here are a few photos of the last month or so!!!

This Year: Juneteenth, Father's Day
and the Summer Solstice all in the same
weekend. So much to celebrate!

Lindsay got to wakeboard in Nana’s old stomping grounds,
where her sister and husband just bought a home.
Even though it had been over 15 years
since last getting to be out in the these treasured Canyon Lake waters,
with Kristen at the helm, she popped right up!

And spent lots of good time
with the nephews :)
